A global community of people adopted from Guatemala
We build community and provide resources for Guatemalan adoptees, run by Guatemalan adoptees.
- 50,000 Children adopted from Guatemala
- 20 Countries we were adopted to
We are a worldwide organization
Around 50,000 children were adopted from Guatemala to the United States, Europe, Israel, New Zealand, Canada and Australia before international adoption from Guatemala closed in 2008.
Services for adoptees
The Guatemalan Ministry of Foreign Affairs provides two services for Guatemalan adoptees. The first is a free birth family search through the National Council of Adoptions (CNA). The second is access to our online records at RENAP, Guatemala's national civil registry.
Our organization successfully lobbied the Guatemalan government for these services, and met with President Alejandro Giammattei in January 2021 to request presidential approval. The President approved the request, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs completed work on the services in May 2021.
